Radar mode — see what's worth visiting around you, right now
The new Explore screen in ARTOUR turns any street corner into the start of a discovery.
You step off a train in a city you don't know. The square is beautiful, the light is good, and you have two free hours. You could scroll through ten browser tabs. Or you could open the app, tap Radar, and let the place speak first.
That is exactly what our new Explore screen — Radar mode — is built for. It answers one simple question: what is worth seeing around me right now, nearest first? No planning session, no pinning, no clever filters. Just look up, then look down at your phone, and go.
How Radar mode feels in your hand
The screen is split into two calm halves. On top: a live map centred on where you are. Below it: the Nearby Sites hub — a swipeable carousel of the nearest guides and points, followed by a browsable catalog of everything else, sorted by distance.
Tap a card, and the map pans to that place. Its pin turns green and gently bounces — orientation at a glance, no squinting at labels. Cards gently auto-advance so you can just watch the neighbourhood introduce itself. The second you interact — a tap, a swipe, or even a drag on the map — the app hands control fully to you. No fighting the interface.
From "that looks interesting" to actually walking there
Every point card has a "Guide me there" button that draws real walking directions from your current position to that stop. Real streets, real turns, no guesswork.

Tap a card, watch the map follow. Green, bouncing pins tell you where to look — in the app and in the street.
Guides walks
Guide cards preview the whole route on the map as an orange line with dots. Easy to understand.
Type badges
Every card carries a badge — Project, Guide, Site, Story or AI — so you always know what you're about to open.
Ranking that speaks your language
Distance is not the only thing that matters when you're standing on a foreign pavement. A stunning tour is not much use if it's narrated in a language you don't read.
Radar mode is language-aware. Nearby guides in your language rank first. A guide in another language has to be much closer to outrank one you can actually understand. Different translations of the same tour are collapsed into a single card, so the list stays clean.
If a card is only available in a language you don't speak, it carries a small language chip — a quiet, honest signal. And if nothing nearby is translated for you? The app says so, plainly, instead of pretending.
When no guide is close by at all, Radar mode offers an AI-suggested itinerary card — a friendly "Feeling Lucky?" — so there is always a next step, even in unfamiliar territory.
