Anna Rogstad began her career in teaching in the boy classes at Møllergata, Sagene and Grünerløkka. But it was in the girls' right to education, she was most concerned.
She was the initiator to Christiania municipal Continuation School for Girls and was the school's first headmaster. She spoke for the importance of equal education for female and male teachers. And her efforts were crucial for getting the public seminars (education for teachers) opened to women.
She will also be remembered as Norway’s first female Member of Parliament. Also she was the deputy of the Conservative Prime Minister, Jens Bratlie in 1912-1913.
The memorial tomb is donated by Norwegian teachers.
