Fiumi Monument

Fiumi Monument

New Cemetery, intercolumniation LX
The work was created by the sculptor Ruperto Banterle in 1914.

Lionello Fiumi entrusts his friend Ruperto Banterle with the creation of the Fiumi Monument in memory of the death of his mother. The young sculptor conceives a subject of great sensuality inspired by Michelangelo's iconography of the Dying Slave.

Curiosity: the sculpture is also known as Anelito Fuggente (Fleeing Soul).
