Emilei Monument

Emilei Monument

Intercolumniation XVI
The work was designed by Innocenazo Fraccaroli in 1838.

The Emilei monument is the first family tomb erected in the cemetery, ten years after the laying of the cornerstone. It is a simple marble slab engraved with the symbols of death, the upside-down torches, and the eternal life of the soul, represented by the lamp lit at the top of the tympanum.

Curiosity: during the Second World War, some funerary monuments created by Innocenzo Fraccaroli were destroyed due to the bombings.
