Dolci Monument

Dolci Monument

Intercolumniation XCIX
The work was created by the sculptor Ettore Ferrari in 1900.

The monument represent a procession of young girls walking down the stairs of a sacred building. The scene, framed by a beautiful mosaic, seems to take place inside the crypt of a neo-Gothic cathedral.

Curiosity: Gaetano Dolci, dedicatee of the work, is portrayed in the medallion at the center of the sarcophagus.
