Cesaris Demel Monument

Cesaris Demel Monument

Colonnade, west corner
The work was created by the sculptor Francesco Modena in 1909.

The large marble statue in the center of the monument is inspired by the iconography of Rodin's Thinker.

Curiosity: Francesco Modena saw Rodin's Thinker in 1907 at the Venice Biennale, where he himself had presented a creation.
