The Ritoni grave
The most prominent buildings and graves
The grave of the merchant Slavoljub Ritonija (Zagreb, 1846-Karlovac, 1896) and hid wife Sofija is charecterised by a particular and, in Karlovac terms, uncommon composition formed of a central diagonally placed slab bounded by two bases that bear massive rotuli with inscritions. The local carver, Mane Tatalović of Karlovac, created a Historicist visually expressive work covering white marble surface with rich decoration of floral and fabric motifs, and worked a vase for flowers and candelabrum of wrought iron into the composition.
