Tomb Dufour

Tomb Dufour

Sculptor S. Varni 1859

The monument is built according to the Renaissance model, with  the statue of the deceased lying on a sarcophagus in a classic repose and conveying a "reassuring" idea of death as a metaphor of sleep and eternal peace.
The only allusion to Dufour’s years is given by the dressing gown that envelops his body.
