Professor of Latin and Italian Eloquence at the University of Turin, he was considered the “prince” of Italian Latin scholars.
Writer and philologist, author of works of deep culture and of school textbooks, he was also in charge of the improvement of the school system.
He left sole heir of his estate the Turin Academy of Sciences.
