Count of Lagoaça's Chapel

Count of Lagoaça's Chapel

The skull as a representation of death

Count of Lagoaça’s chapel(number 37), industrious president of the Porto City Council, who introduced the first public urinals in the city, which the people called "lagoaças".

Here we can observe the skull as an indicator of death. Once again the symbolism prevails in the decorative motifs.
