Regina Schlegel, née Olsen is the woman who for a short period of time was engaged to philosopher Søren Kierkegaard. He broke off the engagement and never married. She married Johan Frederik Schlegel (1817-96), who became governor of the Danish West Indies, and by whose side she was buried in 1904.
