Located at Plaza Carbayedo, in Avilés, its history dates back to 1845, where it already existed as an inn and eatery known as Campanal House.
Behind Casa Tataguyo’s walls hides part of Avilés history, not only for the families who run the restaurants but also for its customers because of the many anecdotes lived in more than a century and a half and, especially, for the friendly atmosphere of this restaurant with deep roots.
Casa Tataguyo was originally a post house and an eater whose name was changed at 1905. It was also the place where "Mary Tata", a generous and kind woman, fed for 60 years traders and people who visited the livestock market.
Juan Rivero Santamaria, its current owner, took over the business in 1985, reforming the restaurant installations but preserving the essence of its early days. Him and his wife, Belen, work as an effectively an outfitted team which combines tradition and innovation.
