Šutna street

In Šutna street, by many considered the most beautiful street in Kamnik, a characteristic set of medieval houses that lean against each other can be seen.
The name “Šutna” derives from the German word for rubble because a stream used to run through the street leaving many layers of rubble behind. Many wrought iron or painted signs on the walls of the houses today remind us of the bustling commercial activity in the 19th century. Rich history also reflects through numerous commemorative plaques, which remind us of the life and work of important inhabitants of Kamnik.
