Main Square
The Main Square in Kamnik is located in the old town center.
The present appearance of the Main Square (Glavni trg) is marked by renowned Slovenian Architect Jože Plečnik, who made a plan to renovate the façades and rearrange the square.
In the middle of the square the fountain is situated, where women used to collect water from in the Middle Ages. On one side of the fountain pillar St. Margaret is depicted, a medieval patron of Kamnik, while on the other side the elements of the former industry of Kamnik can be seen.
Today, Main Square is a venue for many events.
On the Main Square you can also find the Tourist Information Center Kamnik, where you can get firsthand information and a town map.
