Kamnik Regional Museum

Kamnik Regional Museum

On the premises of the Zaprice Manor, the renaissance-baroque manor from the 16th century, the KAMNIK REGIONAL MUSEUM has been based since 1961.
During the Reformation the Kamnik Lutherans sought sanctuary there. It obtained its present appearance in the late baroque period, when it was rebuilt. In museum, permanent and temporary exhibitions have been put on display. In addition, various other events are held here. The permanent exhibitions include the lapidary under the arcades of the entrance wing, a collection of bentwood furniture and the history of the Kamnik townspeople. In front of the manor, the Open Air Museum or skansen is situated. Here the granaries, farm outbuildings dating from the 18th and 19th century from Tuhinj Valley can be seen.
