Birth house of Rudolf Maister – Vojanov
RUDOLF MAISTER – VOJANOV was born here on 29 March 1874. He was a poet, a general, and a great fighter for the northern border.
Based mainly on his military merits, Kamnik awarded him an honorary citizen, although he spent only a few of his childhood years in Kamnik. In Kamnik, a street, a bridge and a secondary school bear his name. What is more; on his birthday Kamnik celebrates municipality holiday. The renovated baroque-neoclassical two storey house from the late 19th century has an older architectural base and a portal.
