Poet, author of several collections, narrator, editor and publicist, the founder of the journal Dejanje (The Action), also a politician, representative of the Christian group in the Liberation Front, member of the Supreme Plenum of the Liberation Front and the Executive Committee of the Liberation Front, co-author and co-signer of the Dolomites Statement, after the war he was also a minister, the Vice President of the Presidium of the People’s Assembly of the People’s Republic of Slovenia, after the issue of the collection of short stories Strah in pogum (Fear and Courage) he withdrew from the political turmoil; winner of the Prešeren award.
