For the tourists, this is an excellent Art Museum and one of the landmarks of Bucharest.
For the locals... in case you passed by it many times but never felt the curiosity to see what's inside (just like it used to happen to me), I recommend you give it a try ... you'll be surprised by the gem hiding right in the middle of Bucharest.

There are normally 3 buildings (religious/roman art and European art are open), the other building is closed. But even with "only" 2 buildings I did spend 3 hours in the museum and didn't see everything in detail. The collection is in general not always fantastic but there are quite some very nice pieces of art to be found :-)
