I just read another review of the museum and for a second I doubted whether it was mine or not. The experience one can expect at this museum is to put it mildly 'off.', but perhaps modern art is intended to place us in doubt with ourselves and the environment, not sure. There are some areas that were priceless, mainly the photo exhibitions, which I've truly enjoyed. But the sensorial experience type of section, the collection of unclassified 'art' material, and the personnel make it an experience of art forming itself in the wild. I am positive there is more effervescence in the Romanian modern art than reflected by the exhibitions here.

It was such a bad experience. I liked the Chisinau film and the Serbian exposition, but disliked everything else. The first thing that catches your eye is the "tar and feather bikes" which make no sense, then you have the "table of junk" where I spotted a tampon wrapper, and the also boring "x-ray fingering" where somebody does nothing but finger-paint an x-ray. The second floor had small rooms (which were awfully hot and smelled like public saunas) which presented some "artistic" shorts... one of which was a grain bag swinging on a thread... such metaphor!... many depth!... waw! The third floor was OK, it presented various pictures taken in the 40s and 50s. The forth was the so called "sensorial" expo... where ordinary people were suppose to experience images that blind people see in their heads. Apart from the fact that the guide lady was coo-coo, she presented a "blind man living room" where "blind people just hang out". There was just a couch in the middle of the room. That's it. I've never been more underwhelmed. I strongly recommend that the museum think things through before making such an expo ever again.

I normally like contemporary art but this museum was not what I expected. It's a shame they didn't make more of it. It's not easy to reach since it's located withing the palace of Parlament (meaning only 1 entrance and quite some walking). The collection was not that good, the security check at the entrance took longer than seeing the entire collection. A missed chance according to me.

Nice museum- only the access lets it down as it is a fairly long walk from the nearest station

Very nice museum, the exhibitions are unlike anything you've ever seen.
