After a fun-filled day at Aquaworld, it’s great to spend a day in Budapest’s City Park. A free hotel shuttle will take you there in just half an hour. With kids, the Budapest Zoo is a fantastic stop—though some areas show signs of age, the zoo offers a close-up experience with a wide variety of animals, making it a memorable visit.

Next to the zoo are remnants of an old amusement park that closed in 2013. Though the remains are in disrepair, a future renovation could bring it back to life, adding even more excitement to the area.

Even without the amusement park, the City Park offers plenty to enjoy. There’s a playground for younger kids and Vajdahunyad Castle, whose fairytale architecture will captivate all ages.

Exploring the City Center and Danube River

If you’re keeping up the pace, you can also head to the city center in the same afternoon. Hop on the M1, Europe’s first continental underground train, for a quick 5-minute ride to Erzsébet tér. The square features an interesting monument and Budapest’s giant Ferris wheel, one of the largest in Europe, offering beautiful city views.

A 10-minute walk will bring you to the banks of the Danube River. Take a late-afternoon boat ride and enjoy stunning evening views of Buda Castle—an experience that’s sure to impress everyone.
