Clapham Tandoori offers both takeaway Indian fare and sit in meals. The collection point for takeaway is away from the main restaurant so you aren’t disturbed and may enjoy your meal in peace. The food has been delicious on every visit (this must be our sixth!) and not oily as I sometimes find some Indian restaurant meals tend to be. I have to say that the service has always been wonderful with our server being attentive yet leaving us in peace to eat undisturbed. A brilliant place to visit for a meal out.

I went with my girlfriend for supper on the basis that it has been well reviewed. The chicken tikka masala was unlike any decent version I had ever eaten. The chicken itself was meant to have been cooked in a tandoor prior to being added to the sauce - it clearly had not as it did not have any of the delicious smokey, charred flavour you supposedly pay extra for. The sauce it came in was literally inedible-it was artificially red and tasted of nothing but sugary, grainy coconut. The sweetness was cloying. I was particularly surprised by the lack of any spice as I had asked for it to be spicier than usual as often chicken tikka masalas can be on the too mild side. My girlfriend ordered a completely different main course but to our horror it came with the same horrible sauce. Neither of us ate any of it. We informed the staff, who where very apologetic and removed the items from our bill. They where also generous enough to offer us another chicken tikka masala to take home - lucky us! Needless to say we declined the offer and left swiftly. If you want a proper curry head down the road to Tooting

FOOD: The food was of great quality. Really authentic. I braved the Phall with garlic naan, pilau rice, onion bargees and some potato dish. Everything was great. SERVICE: Brilliant. Really friendly and attentive yet still giving us plenty of space. Really enjoyed the atmosphere too. VALUE: Again, brilliant. I had the Wednesday deal for like £11, 4 things, it was amazing! Thanks.

My go-to Indian takeaway. There are traditional Indian meals on the menu, always freshly prepared and perfectly savoured. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant so you can grab a bite in, as well. They do deliveries so you can have a tasty Indian meal on a rainy Sunday for lunch at home.

Ordered here tonight after reading the glowing reviews.. Our starter was nice, but our mains were very bland. I could not taste any spice or seasoning in it. We actually ended up renaming the 'tarka dahl' to 'tarka dull'. The food is presented quite well and has all the gimics, they give you a lollipop with your order, but unfortunately the gimics are the most flavoursome bit. I would have rated it 'ok' but after spending £50 on two of us to have a curry take-out, I actually 'disliked' my experience. If you aren't a fan of curry that's spicy or full of flavour then you will probably like it there. P.S a warning to you all, i ordered a 'bottle of diet coke' priced at £2 expecting a large plastic bottle, but do not be mistaken.. this is a glass bottle, so definitely not enough for two people.
